The Rolla softball team (2-14, 0-4 OC) played a pair of road games in the tail end of last week. First they made the trip to Camdenton for an Ozark Conference matchup on Thursday, Sept. 14, before a trip to Logan-Rogersville on Friday, Sept. 15. The Lady Bulldogs lost both games, falling to Camdenton 13-3 and losing to Logan-Rogersville 10-0.
Emalee Grooms toed the rubber in both contests, but needed some more help from her defense against Camdenton. She allowed 13 runs, but only four of those runs were earned, as Rolla committed five errors in the loss. She allowed those runs on 12 hits, two walks, a hit batter and a strikeout.
Grooms led the offense in the loss to the Lady Lakers, going 3-3 at the plate with a triple and a run scored. Mackenzie Proffitt also recorded a multi-hit game with two base knocks. Rolla nearly matched Camdenton in hits with 11, but they couldn't get the big hits they needed to drive in runs in a 13-3 loss.
The JV lost their matchup with Camdenton 8-7. Bailey Pierce pitched for Rolla in the loss. Kendra Cameron led the JV with two hits and two runs scored.
Rolla didn't have much more luck against Logan-Rogersville on Friday. The Lady Bulldogs collected just two base hits in the 10-0 loss. Grooms pitched again, allowing 9 earned runs and one unearned run on 13 hits and a walk. Maycie Montgomery and Alexa Foltz had Rolla's only two hits.
The JV lost their game with Logan-Rogersville 9-2 with Pierce pitching again for the Lady Bulldogs. Pierce and Mikah Allison scored the Rolla JV's two runs.
