In response to requests for more preschool activities, The Centre, Rolla’s Health and Recreation Complex has implemented the “Little Tykes” programs. Sports such as volleyball and flag football as well as “Preschool Pump,” a physical fitness class, are customized to develop key skills for preschoolers. Recreation Program Specialist, Marie Crowley encourages families to make fitness a habit. “I believe being physically active can have a dramatic effect on our lives. Introducing our youth to programs such as Preschool Pump will help encourage healthy, active habits in a positive, safe environment.” A variety of six-week sessions run this fall, and non-members are welcome. For most programs, children must be accompanied by a participating parent or caregiver. Contact Marie Crowley at mcrowley@rollacity.org or visit The Centre for more information.
