The St. James volleyball team (1-2) traveled to Bourbon for a match on Thursday, Aug. 31. The young Lady Tigers were able to get their first win of the season by taking down Bourbon in straight sets 25-17, 25-19.
St. James played a well rounded game against Bourbon when they earned their first win of the season. Mack Rodgers was a force as the team's senior captain. She had three aces, two kills, seven digs and five assists as a jack of all trades. Raina Forstrom also had a strong game for the Lady Tigers with two aces, three kills and 10 digs. Myla Picker chipped in with two aces and three digs.
The St. James super freshmen continued to build some confidence in the win over Bourbon. Hannah Marcee had the team's only two blocks. She also had an ace, two kills and four digs. Mackenna Rodgers added two kills, three digs and three assists.
The JV had a rough night, losing 25-10, 25-23.
The Lady Tigers had a lot of time off after the win. Their next match will be over a week later when they play in the Cuba Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 9.
