The Newburg fall baseball team (0-1) opened their regular season fall slate with a matchup against Bourbon on Tuesday, Aug. 29. The game was decided by pitching, but the Wolves were on the losing side of a 2-0 game.

Travis McWilliams toed the rubber for Newburg and pitched a complete game for the Wolves. He allowed an RBI triple to Tyler Lewis in the fourth and one unearned run in the fifth. Outside of the RBI triple, McWilliams had the game on lock. He allowed just four hits and that one earned run with seven strikeouts. 

Kyle Ware pitched for Bourbon, allowing three hits and no runs with seven strikeouts to earn the win. Tyler Radcliff collected two of those three hits for the Wolves.

Newburg will open up their Frisco League schedule officially when they face off against Licking on the road on Tuesday, Sept. 5.
