The Lady Bulldogs made the trip down to Cuba for their first road game of the season on Wednesday, Aug. 23. Rolla took their lumps on Wednesday night, with the varsity losing 11-1 and the JV losing 12-5.

Rolla struggled to jumpstart their offense against Cuba, managing just four hits in the loss. Emalee Grooms scored the lone run of the game for the Lady Bulldogs with a hit and a stolen base. Lauren Moersch drove her in with her only hit of the game, while Alexa Foltz and Kristynn Hufford each collected base hits of their own.

Moersch toed the rubber for Rolla, pitching all five innings of the mercy rule loss. She allowed 11 runs, 10 of which were earned, striking out three and walking three.

The JV used a total of three pitchers in the 12-5 loss as they search for pitchers. Cheyanne King, Chloe Wood and Kendra Cameron all chipped in on the mound. Rolla spread out the offense in the JV game, with eight different players getting a base hit.

Rolla was back home on Thursday when they hosted Helias, but results were not available by press time. Next up will be a rescheduled home game against Union on Monday, Aug. 28, which was pushed back a week after the eclipse came on Monday, Aug. 21.
