The men's mini softball league had their last two nights of games on Tuesday, Aug. 8 and Tuesday, Aug. 15 and found their champions in the upper and lower divisions.

On The Run took the crown in the upper division with a perfect 8-0 record, while McDonald's won the lower division with a record of 7-1.

On The Run started their final stretch of games by thrashing For Your Consideration on Aug. 8. On the Run dominated the contest with three runs in each of the first two innings as they cruised to an easy 23-3 victory.

On the Run went on to play twice on Aug. 15, winning both games somewhat easily. They started the night with a matchup against For Your Consideration and smacked in six runs in the first inning to set the tone. FYC responded in the second with five runs, but both teams went pretty cold until Mobil scored twice in the fourth after scoring one in the second. They blew the doors wide open in the fifth with a staggering 11 runs to take a 20-5 lead. FYC tried to make a late push with two runs in the fifth and seven in the sixth, but it was too little too late and On the Run finished off a 20-14 win. Their second game against Sakelaris was a bit easier after scoring five runs in the first and 10 in the third on their way to a 16-8 win.

McDonald's had their toughest game on Aug. 8, taking their only loss of the mini season against Larson Construction. The teams traded off runs for the first few innings, as the third ended in a tie at three. Larson then exploded in the fourth with seven runs, but McDonald's punched back with four runs of their own in the fifth. They went on to add three runs in the sixth to tie the game at 10 before taking the lead with a run in the top of the seventh. Larson Construction had the last laugh, however, scoring twice in the bottom of the frame for a walk off 12-11 win.

McDonald's did play a second game on Aug. 8 and had much better luck, cruising to a 17-9 win over Hung Jury thanks to a 12-run third inning. Their games on Aug. 15 were just as dominant. First they crushed Hung Jury 23-3 with nine runs in the second and 10 runs in the fourth. McDonald's then got their revenge on Larson Construction. McDonald's held their opponents to just two runs, while exploding for three runs in the first, eight in the second, 15 in the third and four in the fourth on their way to an easy 30-2 win.

Other games on Aug. 8 saw Futures beating Sakelaris easily 22-4, Sakelaris beating FYC 10-6 and Hung Jury holding off a late comeback attempt by Cheap and Easy for a 19-14 victory. Then on Aug. 15, Sakelaris got their revenge on Futures with a 17-13 win on the back of a four-run eighth inning, Futures beating FYC 14-10, Larson beating Cheap and Easy 13-8 and Hung Jury beating Cheap and Easy 16-10.
