After an extensive investigation by the Phelps County Sheriff's Department, United States
Marshall's Service, and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, Escapee Michael J. Schultz
was captured in Arnold, Missouri on August 9, 2017. He was transported back to the Phelps
County Sheriff's Department, where he remains in custody, without bond.

After an extensive investigation by the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department, United States Marshall’s Service, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, Escapee Michael J. Schultz was captured in Arnold, Missouri on August 9, 2017. He was transported back to the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department, where he remains in custody, without bond.


The driver of the escape vehicle, Cole A. White, age 24 of Dittmer, Missouri was arrested in High Ridge, Missouri during the evening of August 8, 2017 for Aiding Escape of a Prisoner. Bond was set at $100,000. Michael J. Schultz’s girlfriend and accomplice, Mary Christine Dames, age 39 of Fenton, Missouri was arrested in Arnold, Missouri on August 9, 2017 for Aiding Escape of a Prisoner. Her Bond was set at $100,000. Sheriff Lisenbe wants to thank the public, United States Marshall’s Service, and area law enforcement for their assistance. Without the cooperation of these agencies, these arrests
would not have been possible.


The charges for which Schultz, White, and Dames have been arrested are merely accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
