The men's softball league was back in action on Tuesday, Aug. 1, while the coed league played on Thursday, Aug. 3. It was another week with a lot of offense, as a majority of the games saw at least one team scoring in the double figures and only two games that came down to one run.

The men's league kicked off with a matchup between Cheap and Easy and Larson Construction. Larson Construction struck first with a trio of runs in the bottom of the first inning, but Cheap and Easy punched right back with four runs in the top of the second. The teams traded runs for the first three innings, as the game was tied at seven through the third. Both teams then scored in the seventh inning to force extra innings. After a scoreless eighth, Cheap and Easy went off for six runs in the fifth and held off a late push by Larson Construction to pull out a 14-10 win.

Cheap and Easy didn't have the same luck against McDonald's in the second game of the night. McDonald's ripped off 14 runs in the first two innings on their way to an easy 22-7 win. The first field of games ended in similar fashion, with Larson beating Hung Jury 17-7.

The games on Morgan Field started with a matchup between On the Run and Sakelaris. Sakelaris struck first with four runs in the first, but after that it was all On the Run. They scored six runs in both the second and fourth innings on their way to a run away 15-9 win.

On the Run then had the closest game of the men's league when they faced off against Futures. After two scoreless frames, On the Run scored four runs in the third to take an early 4-1 lead. Futures narrowed the lead to two runs with by scoring once in the fourth, but On the Run stretched their lead right back out with three runs in the third. Futures made a late push with five runs in the sixth inning, but one On the Run got a run from David Chirban to pull out a walkoff 8-7 win.

Futures and For Your Consideration ended the night in the men's league with an offensive slugfest. Futures scored a staggering 10 runs in the third inning and scored seven more in the sixth on their way to a 25-14 win.

The coed league then started with a matchup between S&J Green Construction and Make it a Double. S&J controlled the game from jump street on their way to a 17-6 win. 

The closest game of the night was between Ink Monkeys and Make it a Double. Both teams kicked off with four runs in the first frame and Make it a Double was able to take the first lead with two more in the third. Ink Monkeys instantly responded with two more runs in the fourth to tie the game at six. Ink Monkeys scored one final run in the fifth, which was enough for them to finish off a 7-6 win.

The first field of games ended with Ink Monkeys winning their second game of the night, beating Alcoholics 12-6 thanks to a seven run fifth inning.

Curt's Mobile Homes and Team B.S. kicked things off on Kimmel field, with Curt's controlling the game early. They scored three runs in the first, before adding another seven in the second on their way to a 15-8 victory. Not Forgotten Missouri then laid the smackdown on Team B.S., cruising to a 19-1 victory. Not Forgotten didn't have the same offensive punch in their second game against Central Missouri Sportscards, but they still pulled out a win. Central Missouri Sportscards was held scoreless for the first five innings, while Not Forgotten managed to get three runs across. Central Missouri scored twice in the sixth, but Not Forgotten added four more runs for a 7-2 victory. Benchwarmers then won the final game slated for Kimmel Field when the Accidental Winners were forced to forfeit.

The night ended on Morgan Field, with Angels Among Us facing off against 88 Stitches. 88 Stitches took the early lead with three runs before Angels Among Us crossed home plate. Once Angels Among Us started their offense, they didn't back down. They scored twice in the fourth, three in the fifth, three in the sixth and two more in the seventh to pull out am 10-6 come from behind win. 88 Stitches had more luck in their second game, as they ran away with a 13-5 win over Accidental Winners.

After winning their first game of the night, J&S Green Construction moved onto Morgan Field where they cruised to an easy 18-5 win over The Outsiders. J&S went on to end the night by dominating Curls for the Girls on their way to a 19-9 win.
