Two local lifters took part in the push/pull portion of the Show Me State Games last weekend and came away with a total of four medals. Both lifters represented Vessell's Fitness.

Jared Tharp took part in the bench press and deadlift in the event hosted in Columbia. In a field of over 200 lifters, Tharp earned a bronze medal in the bench press by setting a personal record of 415 pounds. He also deadlifted 525 pounds, bringing his total weight of 940 pounds and a gold medal.

Lexi Bliss was one of the youngest competitors in the push/pull portion of the Show Me State Games at 16-years-old, but that didn't stop her from going for the gold. She the state games record for her age division and weight class by benching 130 pounds and deadlifting 275 pounds for a total of 405. Both of those were also personal bests for Bliss.
