Prior to the state's coed softball championships coming to town, the local squads had another week of action on Thursday, July 13. There were a few tight ballgames, but several of the games still ended in blowouts.

The night kicked off with a matchup between Not Forgotten and Curt's Mobile Homes. Not Forgotten got out to an early lead with three runs in the first and two in the third for a 5-0. They held off against a four-run inning by Curt's by adding four runs of their own late for a 9-5 win. Curt's then fell short in their second game against Central Missouri Sportscards. Central Missouri scored seven in the second inning to cruise to a 12-3 win.

The third and final game on Morgan field was a high scoring nail-biter between Central Missouri Sportscards and Team BS. Team BS got out to a quick start with two runs in the first and six runs in the second, but Central Missouri punched back with five runs of their own in the bottom of the second. Team BS stretched that lead back out with two more runs in the third, while Central MO scored one more run in the bottom of the frame to stay in the game. The runs kept flying and the game went into the seventh inning tied at 17. Team BS scored three runs in the top of the seventh to take a 20-17 lead and held Central MO to just one run to walk away with a 20-18 win.

The next field of games kicked off with another close game between Curls for the Girls and Benchwarmers. After Benchwarmers scored the only run of the first inning, both teams exploded in the second. Each team scored seven runs in the second, allowing Benchwarmers to cling to their one run lead. Curls then took the lead in the third with five more runs in the third. The Benchwarmers did enough to stay in the game and made a late push with five runs in the fifth, but they fell one run short and Curls finished off a 15-14 win.

Things didn't get much easier for Curls in their second game when they faced off against Angels Among Us. The game was tied at two through the second inning, with Angels taking a 7-5 lead in the third. The added one more run in the fourth, before Curls took the lead back with five runs in the top of the sixth. The Angels went into the bottom of the sixth trailing 10-8, but scored three runs in the inning for a walk off 11-10 win.

88 Stitches ended the night on the second field of games with an easy 13-3 win over Benchwarmers.

Two of the three games on the final field of games were decided by three runs or fewer and that started with Alco and S&J Green Construction. The runs were limited in the game, but S&J scored twice in the first and four in the fifth, while managing to hold Alco to just three runs for a 6-3 win. The second game between Make it a Double and Alco was very similar, but Alco came out on the other end of things. Runs were very limited, but two runs in the third, one in the fifth and two more in the seventh allowed them to take down Make it a Double 5-4.

S&J Green Construction ended the night by thrashing Ink Monkey 17-3 thanks to a nine-run fifth inning.
