The Church League was back in action on Monday, July 17 with blowouts across the board. Only two of the games on Monday night were decided by three runs or fewer.
Apostolic of Jerome kicked off the night by crushing First Pentecostal #1 15-0. Darren Wood scored four runs to lead Apostolic of Jerome, while one other player scored three runs and four scored twice.
The second game of the night wasn't much closer when Ridgeview and Christian Fellowship faced off. Ridgeview scored four in the first, six in the third and four in the sixth to cruise to an easy 14-1 win.
One of the closer games of the night was between Christian Fellowship and Greentree #1. Christian Fellowship got out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning and built on that lead in each of the next three innings. Greentree was able to stay in the game with a run in the second, another in the third, three in the fourth and two in the fifth, but Christian Fellowship stayed one step ahead of them each time. Christian Fellowship scored one in the second, two in the third and four in the fourth to hold on to a 10-7 win.
The runs then flew when Newburg Christian/Spring Creek faced off with First Baptist. Newburg/Spring Creek went off for five in each of the first two innings before adding one in the third and eight in the fourth. First Baptist tried to stay in the game, but the nine runs they scored wasn't enough to prolong the game and they fell to Newburg Christian/Spring Creek 19-9.
Next up was a matchup between Greentree #2 and First Pentecostal #2. First Pentecostal got out to an early 3-1 lead in the first inning, but after that, Greentree controlled the game. They scored four in both the third and fourth innings on their way to a 9-4 win. First Pentecostal had the same luck in their second game. After getting out to a 4-0 in the first, First Pentecostal fizzled out a bit against Rolla Church of Christ. Rolla scored three runs in the second before going off for six runs in the third on their way to a 12-7 win.
Rolla Church of Christ's offense fizzled out in their second game against Rolla Apostolic. Rolla Apostolic scored 12 runs int he first two innings on their way to a shutout 13-0 win.
Methodist ended the night against Salem Ave with both teams scoring a run in the first. Methodist then scored three in each of the next two innings before scoring four in the fifth on their way to a 9-6 win.
