ROLLA, Mo. – The Missouri S&T's men's soccer team has added three more players to the roster for the 2017 season.

The latest additions are Alex Brewer, a midfielder from Blue Valley Northwest High School in Overland Park, Kan.; Jesse George, a midfielder from Francis Howell North High School in St. Charles, Mo.; and Michael Sallee, a goalkeeper from Springfield Catholic High School in Springfield, Mo.

Brewer served as a team captain at Blue Valley Northwest, where he earned all-state honors following his senior year and also earned third-team all-Eastern Kansas League selection in 2016.  In his junior year he played for a state championship team at the Kansas Class 6A level.  He also played two seasons with the KC Fusion club program; the 2015 team won the state's President's Cup in Kansas.  In addition, Brewer earned an academic excellence award for student-athletes from his school.

George played his high school soccer at Francis Howell North, where he earned first-team all-conference honors in the Gateway Athletic Conference's South Division in 2016 as well as all-state and all-region honors.  As a defensive midfielder, he recorded seven points on a goal and five assists during his senior year as his team reached the Missouri Class 3 quarterfinals. George also played at the club level for Scott Gallagher in St. Louis as well as stints with Lou Fusz and Sporting St. Louis.  He plans to major in biochemical engineering at Missouri S&T.

Sallee earned second-team all-state honors as a goalkeeper at Springfield Catholic, helping lead the Irish to a district title in 2015 and the district championship game the following season.  Sallee plans to major in mechanical engineering at Missouri S&T.

The Miners will open practice for the 2017 season on Monday, August 14, with the season opener slated for Saturday, Sept. 2 against Northeastern State at the S&T Soccer Field.
