The RYBS league returned to action on Monday, July 10 with a trio of games. The first game of the night came down to the wire before a pair of one-sided affairs in the final two games.
Lion's Club and Superior Polished Concrete kicked things off with a nail-biter. Lion's Club scored three runs in the top of the first to get the ball rolling, but Superior Polished instantly responded with four runs in the bottom of the frame.
Lion's Club fired back with three more runs in the second, but Superior Polished punched right back with another trio of runs in the bottom of the frame to take the lead back 7-6. Lion's Club had the upper hand in the third with two more runs in the top of the frame before shutting out Superior in the bottom of the inning to finish off an 8-7 win.
Pete's Pumpkin Patch then faced off with Procare Pools in a dominant performance. They scored twice in the first and five in the second before Procare Pools could even get on the board. Procare was able to score twice in the third to get their offense started, but Pete's Pumpkin Patch was able to extend their lead with four more runs in the tip of the fourth. Procare added a few more runs in the bottom of the inning, but it was too little too late and Pete's Pumpkin Patch, led by three runs scored by Luke Feeler, ran away with an 11-5 win.
Rolla Optimist ended the night with a dominant 8-0 shutout win over Sherrick Orthodontics. Andrew Clardy, Wyatt Stough and AJ Light each scored a pair of runs for Rolla Optimist in the win.
