The Miner senior added to his list of awards from this season.

ROLLA, Mo. – Jon Glaser (Wildwood, MO/Lafayette), who was selected as the Great Lakes Valley Conference's "Swimmer of the Year" for the 2016-17 season and who was the recipient of the Gale Bullman Award from Missouri S&T this season, has been named as the "Scholar-Athlete of the Year" by the GLVC in men's swimming for the past academic year.

The conference announced its winter and spring scholar-athlete recipients today and Glaser was selected in his sport, marking the third consecutive year that a Missouri S&T student-athlete has earned the award.  Keith Sponsler was named following the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons.

Glaser earned the GLVC's top award at the conference meet this past season after capturing titles in the 50-, 100- and 200-yard freestyle events as well as anchoring the 800-yard freestyle relay team to a first place finish.  At the NCAA Division II Championships, he won seven All-America awards, which included a fourth place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, seventh in the 100-yard freestyle and fifth place showing as part of the Miners' 800-yard freestyle relay.

He won at least two GLVC titles in each of his four seasons at Missouri S&T and won league championships in seven different events during his career, as well as earning 24 All-America awards, the most accumulated by a Missouri S&T swimmer over the last 20 seasons.

Glaser, a mechanical engineering major at Missouri S&T, was also named to the College Sports Information Directors of America's academic all-district team in each of the last two years.
