Phelps County 4-H Clover Kid Camp was held Thursday, June 22, at the St. James Park. It was a full day of fun, learning activities

Phelps County 4-H Clover Kid Camp was held Thursday, June 22, at the St. James Park. Campers met Mary Lou, the mule, and her trainer, Loren Basham from Pair-a-Dice Mule Farm in Belle. They learned about the state fish and went fishing at the lake with Kyle Case and John Marshall from Meramec Spring. Kendra Swee introduced them to eagle facts and compared their wingspans to that of an eagle. Then they built an eagle's nest. Robert Sallee shared flag etiquette and demonstrated the correct handling of an American flag. Swimming, crafts, food and friends rounded out the day's activities.
A huge thank you goes out to the volunteers that made this fun day possible for Phelps County 4-H. For those interested in joining 4-H, our new year will be starting in August. Watch for information about joining area clubs or stop by your local University of Missouri Extension office at 200 North Main Suite G8 in Rolla MO. University of Missouri Extension 4-H is the youth development program of the nation’s Cooperative Extension system.
