The Newburg girls soccer team (0-3-1) wrapped up the Dixon Tournament on Saturday, April 8. The wind gave the Lady Wolves a bit of trouble and they were overpowered by Marshall in a 4-1 loss.
Riley Guffey scored Newburg's lone goal in the loss, taking an assist from Mychaela Van Pelt and lobbing it over the Marshall keeper for a goal. The Lady Wolves, however, couldn't slow down the Marshall offense in a 4-1 loss.
"This tournament was great for us in terms of adjusting our play style to accommodate such a windy day; as well as building our team chemistry," said head coach Cody Martin. "Our player's are getting comfortable in their positions and understanding their roles. We are looking forward to this week's round of matches."
The Lady Wolves will remain on the road for their next contest, making the short drive down 44 for a matchup against their friendly rival St. James on Tuesday, April 11.
