The Rolla boys basketball team (13-9, 4-2 OC) hosted Kickapoo for an Ozark Conference matchup on Tuesday, Feb. 14. Rolla couldn't slow down the high powered Kickapoo offense and fell 91-44.
Kickapoo put the game away in the opening quarter. Rolla managed just six points in the first quarter and the Chief buried shot after shot. Kickapoo scored 30 points in the first quarter with 12 points from Cameron Davis and another 10 points from Jared Ridder. The second quarter looked a lot like the first, as Rolla couldn't get their offense going. Kickapoo added another 25 points in the second and stormed into the half with a 55-12 lead.
Rolla's offense woke up in the third, as they more than doubled their entire first half offensive production. The Bulldogs got 10 points from Zac Burns and another nine points from Brandon Cunningham, but their defense didn't match their offense. Rolla and Kickapoo each scored 26 points in the third, allowing the Chiefs to maintain their lead going into the fourth quarter with the score at 81-38.
The Bulldog offense dipped again in the fourth, scoring six points for the third time in the game. Kickapoo added another 10 points to run away with a 91-44 win.
Cunningham led the Rolla offense with 13 points, while Burns chipped in another 10 in the loss. Ridder was unstoppable for Kickapoo, scoring 34 points for the Chiefs.
Rolla remains in the Ozark Conference for their next game, as they'll host Glendale on Friday, Feb. 17.
