The Missouri Basketball Coaches Association released their newest class rankings for boys and girls on Thursday, Jan. 5. The Newburg boys and St. James girls each remain in the top 10, with Newburg sitting at sixth in Class 2 and St. James ranking third in Class 3.
St. James remains undefeated at 13 and ranks third in Class 3. It's worth noting how well their entire district is doing this season, as Southern Boone ranks a slot above them at 8-0 and Father Tolton is right behind them in fourth at 10-1. The Lady Tigers played at Nixa on Thursday, Jan. 5, but results of that game were not available at press time. Next up is their reschedule Championship game of the Sullivan Tournament against Warrenton on Saturday, Jan. 7.
Newburg remains as the only team in their district in the top 10 in Class 2, while Licking is the only other Frisco League team in any of the top 10 boys rankings. Licking sits in second place in Class 3. The Wolves, who sit at 9-2, will look to stay in their winning ways with a matchup against Macks Creek on Friday, Jan. 6.
