S&T students nominated for Homecoming Queen

Missouri University of Science and Technology student organizations have nominated 16 students to compete for the title of 2009 Homecoming Queen.
 
The winner is chosen after interviews and a campuswide election held the week prior to Homecoming, which is on the weekend of Oct. 23-25.
 
The king and queen, and the runners-up, will be announced during halftime ceremonies of Missouri S&T’s Homecoming football game on Saturday, Oct. 24. The game, which features Missouri S&T and University of St. Francis, starts at 1 p.m.
 
The queen candidates are:
 
-- Katie Baldwin, a senior in chemical engineering from Fenton, Mo., nominated by Kappa Delta

-- Emily Buchmeier, a junior in chemical engineering from St. Louis, nominated by Kappa Sigma

-- Erica Collins, a senior in geological engineering from Kansas City, Mo., nominated by Chi Omega

-- Emelia Connolly, a sophomore in history from Mountain View, Mo., nominated by the DaVinci Society

-- Colleen Conrad, a sophomore in environmental engineering from Akron, Ohio, nominated by the Quadrangle Hall Association

-- Leyla Gardner, a senior in information science and technology from St. Charles, Mo., nominated by the Student Union Board

-- Kathryn Hendricks, a freshman in engineering management from Bozeman, Mont., nominated by the Thomas Jefferson Residence Hall Association

-- Emily Holden, a junior in physics from St. Charles, Mo., nominated by Kappa Kappa Psi

-- Megan McLain, a senior in engineering management from Sunset Hills, Mo., nominated by Zeta Tau Alpha

-- Amanda Merriken, a senior in nuclear engineering from Farmer City, Ill., nominated by the Residential College

-- Maggie Moore, a senior in applied mathematics from St. Louis, nominated by Pi Kappa Alpha

-- Katie Rodhouse, a junior in business and management systems from Kansas City, Mo., nominated by Sigma Nu

-- Stephanie Rostad, a senior in civil engineering from Waynesville, Mo., nominated by Student Council

-- Samantha Somers, a sophomore in electrical engineering from Shawnee, Kan., nominated by Alpha Epsilon Pi

-- Michelle Taylor, a senior in business from Rolla, Mo., nominated by Tau Kappa Epsilon

-- Natalie Tedford, a junior in petroleum engineering from Edwardsville, Ill., nominated by Phi Kappa Theta.
