The Spring Creek Artisans (SCA) will be holding their annual picnic at the Bonebrake Center in Salem, MO on Thursday, August 27th at 5:30 PM. All members are encouraged to attend and bring a dish to share with the other members.
Spring Creek Artisans, founded in 1987 is a non-profit, juried organization which promotes both original craft and fine art media. Its purposes are:
- to stimulate greater community appreciation of those media;
- to offer support, encouragement and educational opportunity to those interested in this field; and
- to provide a showcase for serious artists and crafts people.
The SCA is always looking for new artisans to join our group. Area artisans that are interested in joining SCA are encouraged to come out and meet the artisans at this fun, social event. The success of SCA depends on active, contributing members who share their talents, energy and effort for the common welfare of the organization.
We currently have 22 members working in various media such as: woodcarving, jewelry, stained glass, folk art and watercolor painting, acrylics and oil painting, wooden rocking horses, basket weaving, treenware, wildlife and bird paintings, counted cross stitch and Swedish embroidery, quilting, candle and soap making, Shaker boxes, birdhouses, and fiber arts (knitting, weaving).
