Old Iron Works Days loom in October

St. James, Mo. -

There is no better way to spend a wonderful autumn weekend than attending

Old Iron Works Days.   The two-day event will be held October 10 and 11

at beautiful Maramec Spring Park, which is located six miles southeast of St.

James, Missouri.

      Craftsmen will be demonstrating skills of the 1800’s era.  You can see an

antique tool display, apple head dolls, basket making, beekeeping, blacksmiths,

bonnets, butter making, chair caning, children’s shoes, cornhusk dolls, crocheting, felting, glasswork, handmade wooden tools, hardanger, herbs, kettlekorn, music, needlepoint, painted dolls, pottery, quilting, rag rugs, ropemaking, sorghum molasses being made, spinning, stained glass, storytelling, treenware making, wagon wheel weaving, weaving, woodworking and wool dyeing.

      There is great music being performed continuously on the stage.  Performers

from the Steelville and St. James areas will be entertaining with some great and

interesting sounds.  Cloggers will be performing.

      There is something for everyone at OLD IRON WORKS DAY’S.  The cost

is $10 per car.  So pack your automobile full of family and friends and come on
