Ozark Rivers Audubon begins the fall season with a program on "Karst Hydrology in the Missouri Ozarks" by Jim Vandike. 

Bedrock, sinkholes, caves, springs, and streams---how are they all connected, and how do they work together?  Why does the Ozarks have so many beautiful clear and cold springs?  Where does all the water come from, and will it run out some day?  What's really going on down there underground? 

Jim Vandike knows, and he will tell us.  Vandike has been a hydrogeologist with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources for more than 31 years. 

He is currently the chief of the Groundwater Geology Section at the Water Resources Center on Fairgrounds Road in Rolla. 

The meeting will be held in the Eugene E. Northern Community Hall in Rolla (one block north of the Courthouse, across from Brown's Veterinary Clinic) on Thursday, September 10, at 7:00 p.m.  Light refreshments will be provided.
