Phelps County Clerk Carol Bennett is reminding residents of the deadline to apply for absentee voting.
Anyone who will not be able to make it to the polls for the Feb. 7 presidential primary can vote by absentee ballot, but Bennett’s office must receive an application for absentee voting by 5 p.m. today.
Bennett’s office is on the first floor of the Phelps County Courthouse.
The absentee ballots themselves are due to the clerk’s office at the close of the polls Feb. 7. Those ballots must be hand delivered by the voter or placed in the mail to be considered valid.
