For its only meeting in November, the Rolla Board of Education is stuffing the agenda to the gills.

Large issues that will be discussed during the meeting include, the Patron Insight survey, an April bond issue, candidate filing, and school improvement plans, to name a few.

The Patron Insight survey is the latest step in the district’s discussion on whether a bond issue will be placed on the April ballot.

A similar survey was done last year in October at the beginning of the economic crisis, and despite a somewhat favorable response, the board decided not to push forward with the effort.

This time around, the difference is a passed bond issue will allow the district to apply for federal

Qualified School Construction Bonds. These bonds are interest-free and are available through the Stimulus Act.
