Fighting abuse of children


TAKING A STAND

Those who participated in the weekend Take A Stand to prevent child abuse fund-raiser for Phelps County Child Advocacy Network (PCCAN) raised $27,569.81 during the two-day lemonade and water sales. Participants were recognized for most creative individual stands, most creative group stands, highest group sales, highest individual sales. Phelps County Bank recognized the following for their participation, beginning front left, Morgan Dietrich, second place individual stand; Jenna White, second place, most creative; Sloan Davis, first place individual most creative, and Rylee Hancock, second in group for most creative and third in money raised. In the second row are, from left, Tyler Dietrich, also second in individual creative; Samantha White, third place in most creative, and Christina Flores, first in individual sales. In the back row, from left, are Julianne Skaggs, second in money raised and first in most creative; Debi Schwertz, second in individual sales; Braden (holding MacKenzie) Bryan, also first in individual sales, a representative of Pathways, first in group sales, and Dylan McDonald, third in group sales. Not pictured is the Green Tree group, third most creative stand and Debbie Smith, third in highest sales. The $27,569.81 raised this year is $1,300 more than last year, and surpasses the $250,000 mark during the 13-year event. First through third-place winners in each category were given $100, $75 and $50 respectively, awarded by PCB.
