Enrollment for the first day of the spring semester at Missouri University of Science and Technology was 6,612 — a 2.6 percent increase from last year’s spring enrollment, says Deanne Jackson, interim director of records and registration at Missouri S&T.

This marks the tenth consecutive year of enrollment increases.

“Our on-campus enrollment is up slightly, to 5,951 students,” says Laura Stoll, vice provost and dean of enrollment management. “Enrollment in our online distance education programs continues to rise, it’s up 11.2 percent.”

The semester officially began Jan. 9, but the university will continue to enroll students through the first weeks of the spring semester. Official enrollment figures for the semester will be released after the fourth week of classes.

Last spring, 6,447 students were enrolled on the first day of the spring semester.
