S&T orchestras to perform first concert of the semester

The Missouri University of Science and Technology University and Community Symphony Orchestra and the Missouri S&T Chamber Orchestra will perform their first concert of the semester at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, in Leach Theater of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla.

The orchestra will be conducted by Dr. Robert J. Cesario, assistant professor of arts, languages and philosophy.
 
Tickets are $3 for the general public and free for S&T students. They can be purchased at the door the night of the performance.
 
The Chamber Orchestra will begin the program with “Fanfare,” by Jason Roberto, followed by “Four American Folk Tunes,” by Samuel Adler, and “Folk Tune and Fiddle Dance,” by Percy E. Fletcher. The Symphony Orchestra will play Rimsky Korsakov’s exciting “Capriccio Espagnol,” which features several solo performances, and Felix Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 5, “Reformation.”
