Scholarships available for H.S. seniors

A number of scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors.

Below is a list submitted by Anna Hartley, Guidance Secretary, Waynesville High School.


Marion Dale Summerford Memorial Scholarship

Deadline March 16

Applicant must be a Mid-Missouri Credit Union F.Y.I. (Future Young Investors) Club member graduating from high school in 2012. The Marion Dale Summerford Memorial Scholarship is open to eligible high school seniors who plan to and continue their education at a university, college or technical school. Mid Missouri Credit Union employees, officials and their immediate family members are not eligible for the scholarship.


Luke E. Hart Memorial Scholarships

Deadline Feb. 15

The recipients must attend one of the branches of the University of Missouri – Columbia, St. Louis, Rolla, or Kansas City.  If fewer than four qualified applicants apply, then these scholarship may be awarded as specified for Missouri State Scholarships. To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must be a member of the Knights of Columbus; or the son, daughter, or wife of a member of the Knights of Columbus; or the son, daughter, or wife of a deceased member of the Knights of Columbus; or a Squire or Columbus Girl in good standing, attested to by the Chief Counselor and GK; or a minor child whose legal guardian is a member of the Knights of Columbus.  You can pick up an application in the guidance office or at MOKOFC 0


Ladies Auxiliary Scholarship

Deadline Feb. 15

Applicant for this scholarship must be a member in good standing of a Ladies Auxiliary of a Council or Assembly within Missouri as attested to by the President and Treasurer of the local Auxiliary. Missouri State Scholarships

Deadline Feb. 15

The recipient may attend any accredited university, college, or technical school; beyond high school level. To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must be a member of the Knights of Columbus; or the son, daughter, or wife of a member of the Knights of Columbus; or the son, daughter, or wife of a deceased member of the Knights of Columbus; or a Squire or Columbus Girl in good standing, attested to by the Chief Counselor and GK; or a minor child whose legal guardian is a member of the Knights of Columbus.  You can pick up an application in the guidance office or at MOKOFC web page www.mokofc.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=226&Itemid=688

Cardinal Bernard F. Law Scholarship

The recipient may attend any accredited seminary of their choice studying for a vocation to the religious life.  Applicants must be approved by one of the Missouri Dioceses or by a religious order located in Missouri.  The membership requirements do not apply. Vocation Scholarship

Deadline Feb. 15

The recipients may attend any accredited seminary or college of their choice to study for a vocation to the religious life.  If no applications are received from applicants desiring to study for a vocation to the priesthood or to serve in a religious community, then these scholarships may be awarded to other applicants with preference given to those attending Catholic institutions. Applicants must be approved by one of the Missouri Dioceses or by a religious order located in Missouri.  The membership requirements do not apply.
