Rolla High School graduated 313 students Friday during its  Commencement ceremony at the Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose building. According to Dr. Roger Berkbuegler, principal of RHS, 227 of those seniors are headed off to college.

Students, families and staff from B.W. Robinson State School in Rolla, Ozark Hills State School in Salem, and the Gingerbread House in Rolla gathered at Lion’s Club Park on May 16, to participate in their Special Olympics Challenge Day.

The Kiwanis Clubs of Rolla are again sponsoring Project Graduation for Rolla High School students.  The party starts after the graduation ceremony at the Missouri S&T Bullman Multipurpose Building/Recreation Center at 10 p.m. Friday and goes all night long until 6 a.m. Saturday.

Most students look forward to this time of year with great anticipation. It’s time for summer vacation.

Dr. Roger Berkbuegler, principal of Rolla High School had no idea he was going to be honored like he was Tuesday afternoon.

More than $4.5 million in scholarships were awarded to graduating seniors at the 2008 RHS Awards Assembly on Tuesday.

It was graduation day Thursday at Newburg Elementary. Thirty-nine fifth-graders from Christy Campbell’s and Betty Gibson’s classes graduated after completing a 10-week program that could benefit them the rest of their lives — the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department DARE program.

Wyman Elementary held a special assembly Monday to celebrate the 2006-2007 third-grade class being named in the Top 10 schools in percent of students scoring at the “proficient” or “advanced” levels among schools with an enrollment of 500 students or more.

An estimated 300 people gathered on a sunny Sunday afternoon to honor Dr. D. Kent King, Rolla School District’s former superintendent, for whom the district named its administration building.

Roger Berkbuegler, principal of Rolla High School, already knows he’s going to miss being the principal of RHS. It has been his life for the last 28 years.

Spring commencement ceremonies at Missouri University of Science and Technology are scheduled for May 16-17. A ceremony for graduate candidates will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, May 16, in the Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose Building, 10th Street and Bishop Avenue, Rolla.

John Edgar has spent 33 years in education as an elementary principal, teacher, athletic administrator, assistant high school principal and varsity coach.

It was a sunny, successful Earth Day with a great turnout and lots of things to see and do at the Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla on Tuesday.

  Darlene Bramel, currently assistant Rolla high school principal has accepted the Rolla Board of Education’s offer Thursday for the position of Principal at Truman Elementary.

  Arts Rolla, in partnership with Missouri S&T Department of English and Technical Communication, presented PoetSpeak, an annual poetry reading featuring Missouri writers, Saturday evening.
