Business leaders can access the knowledge and experience of ten internationally-acclaimed leaders by attending the Maximum Impact Simulcast, hosted by the Rolla Area Chamber of Commerce, at Christian Life Center in Rolla on Friday, May 8, 2009. 

The Missouri Department of Transportation will perform milling on Route BB, Phelps County, from Route 8 to County Road 3040 and on Route 68, Phelps County, from County Road 3560 to County Road 4380, beginning Monday, April 20. MoDOT will install guardcable on Interstate 44, Crawford and Phelps Counties, Eastbound Interstate 44 at the Route U overhead for 2 miles, from mile marker 200.2 to mile marker 202.2 beginning Monday, April 20. 

The Missouri University of Science and Technology Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony will perform their final concert of the spring semester at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 26, in Leach Theater of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla.

Portions of a statewide energy summit chaired by Missouri University of Science and Technology Chancellor John F. Carney III will be available for viewing live over the Internet.

A favorite Broadway musical “Bye Bye Birdie” will be performed at Missouri University of Science and Technology at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 21. The concert will be held in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets.

The open, contemporary structure that now occupies the spot where the Missouri University of Science and Technology Mechanical Engineering Annex stood for more than a century makes a long-time university priority a reality. Toomey Hall, which will be formally dedicated April 17, mirrors the cutting-edge learning that takes place inside.

Missouri University of Science and Technology will present “Dr. Dolittle,” performed in spoken English and American Sign Language by the Sign Stage on Tour national touring company at 7 p.m. Friday, April 17, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla, Mo. This is the final performance in this season’s Leach Theatre Family Series.

The office of graduate studies at Missouri University of Science and Technology will host a Graduate Fair from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, in the Atrium of the Havener Center on the Missouri S&T campus.

Gene Doty, chair of English and technical communication at Missouri University of Science and Technology, is retiring from the university following the current semester.

A lead scientist for NASA’s Phoenix Lander Mission to Mars is scheduled to speak at Missouri University of Science and Technology on April 16.

A large-scale collection for large-item recyclables is slated for 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, May 9, at the Brewer Science, Inc. parking lot, located in HyPoint Industrial Park near Interstate 44, Exit 189 and Highway V.

The Glenn Miller Orchestra will return to Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla for a matinee performance on Thursday, April 16. Prior to the performance, a brunch will be served at 11 a.m. at the Christ Episcopal Church at 1000 N. Main St. The concert will be held at 1 p.m. in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets.
