  • The EMTs on USA's Sirens are getting called back for another shift.
The half-hour comedy from Denis Leary (Rescue Me) and Bob Fisher (Wedding Crashers) has been renewed for a 13-episode second season, the network announced Wednesday.
    TV's 24 greatest action heroes
Sirens stars Michael Mosley, Kevin Daniels, Kevin Bigley and Jessica McNamee, and marked USA's first foray into half-hour comedies. Adapted from the 2011 British series of the same name, the show debuted to 1.32 million viewers in March and currently ranks as basic cable's No. 1 new comedy of 2014. USA has since launched a second half-hour comedy, Playing House, which wraps its first season next week.
"Sirens resonated with a broad fan base, and we are excited to grow this new audience further, as season two promises a lot more laughs and irreverent humor," USA Network president Chris McCumber said in a statement. "We're pleased to continue our partnership with Denis Leary and Bob Fisher, whose unique brand of witty, off-kilter and laugh-out-loud writing is brought to life by the immensely talented cast."
