  • Godzilla had a monster debut at the box office this weekend, raking in $93.2 million, Box Office Mojo reports. That's the second-highest opening of 2014, falling just short of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which took in $95 million in its first weekend.
The remake bumped last week's No. 1 film, Neighbors, down to second place with $25.9 million. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 also fell a spot to No. 3 with $16.8 million.

The weekend's other new movie, Million Dollar Arm, opened in fourth place with $10.5 million. At No. 5 was The Other Woman with $6.3 million, followed by Heaven Is for Real in sixth place with $4.4 million.
Rio 2 earned $3.8 million to land at No. 7, narrowly edging out The Winter Soldier, which took in $3.7 million in its seventh week in theaters.
Rounding out the Top 10 were Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return (No. 9, $1.95 million) and Moms' Night Out (No. 10, $1.9 million).
