Lady 'Dogs move to 2-0; Lady Tigers are 1-2.

The Rolla High School volleyball team swept past St. James 25-9, 25-10 on Tuesday.

The Lady Bulldogs improve to 2-0 while the St. James Lady Tigers fall to 1-2.

“The girls did what they needed to do,” said Rolla head coach Trish Knight. “We established our right side attack with Aideen (McEnaney) and did more with Cami (Ryckman) in the middle (Tuesday).

“St. James has some talented athletes and I can see them doing some good things in the future.”

Senior Vasilisa Shamina scored seven points, two aces and made five kills for Rolla while senior Kelsi James had 15 assists and senior Aarika Froehlich had seven points earned, one block and three kills.

Rolla also won the junior varsity match 25-3, 25-6.

The Lady Bulldogs were scheduled to play in Springfield Wednesday against Ozark Conference rival Kickapoo. And on Saturday Rolla competes in the West Plains Tournament, starting at 9 a.m.

St. James is scheduled to host Bourbon Thursday, starting at 5:30 p.m.
