  • A Waynesville man was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to robbing Security Bank of Pulaski County in February.
Arthur John Green, 42, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge M. Douglas Harpool to 12 years and seven months in federal prison without parole.
On April 2, 2014, Green pleaded guilty to robbing the Security Bank of Pulaski County.
According to court documents, Green allegedly entered the bank on Feb. 20 and handed the teller a note that said he had a weapon and wanted money. While the teller was gathering money, the suspect told the teller to hurry or he would start shooting and that he had his finger on the trigger. The teller gave the man $1,100.
Video from the bank identified Green leaving the scene in a stolen 1995 Buick.
A few hours later, a Pulaski County deputy found the vehicle later that afternoon. Green was arrested and was found with $1,080 in his pants pocket.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick Carney. It was investigated by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI.
