Tigers fall to Sullivan in double OT.

The St. James High School boys’ soccer team dropped its second consecutive Four Rivers Conference heartbreaker on Thursday, falling to Sullivan 3-2 in double overtime.

Midfielder Drew Lahman gave St. James a 1-0 lead in the first half. After the Sullivan Eagles tied it up, the Tigers went ahead again on a Sullivan own-goal under pressure from St. James forward Austin Wachter.

Again Sullivan scored to tie it 2-2.

Each team had several chances in the second half, but no goals were scored. Two overtime periods followed, with Sullivan finally scoring the game-winner with about two minutes remaining in the second extra period.

Zach Russell, usually a defender for St. James, made eight saves as Tiger keeper, as the St. James regular goalie is still out with injury.

Senior captain Mason Ragland led the way on defense for St. James.

The Tigers were scheduled to play again today at Laquey.
