Bulldogs fall to Lebanon, 36-22.

The Rolla Junior High School freshman football team opened its season by falling to Lebanon 36-22 Monday at Lions Memorial Field.

The game was backed up two hours due to heat concerns.

Rolla took an 8-0 lead in the first period and added another TD in the second quarter, but Lebanon rallied for 20 points in the second quarter and led 20-16 at halftime. Rolla trailed 28-16 entering the fourth period, and each team scored a TD in the final quarter.

Davis Buhr scored all three Rolla touchdowns, on a 45-yard run in the first period, on a 50-yard run in the second quarter and on a four-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Caleb Turner hit Isaac Arthur with two-point conversion passes following the first two Rolla scores, and the third Bulldog conversion attempt failed.

Rolla is slated to play again on Monday, Sept. 1 in Springfield against Kickapoo, starting at 5:30 p.m.
