  • A photograph by local artist George Karr will be featured in the 2015 Art is Ageless calendar produced by Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America.
Karr’s piece, “Autumn Church,” was a winner in Rolla Presbyterian Manor’s annual Art is Ageless juried competition last spring.
As a local winner, Karr’s piece was entered into a masterpiece level competition with winners from 17 other Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America campuses. The winners will be featured in the Art is Ageless calendar and notecards.
“Each year the judges have a more difficult time,” said Joelle Freeland, marketing director with Rolla Presbyterian Manor. “With over 70 entries, the diversity is exciting and the talent represented in the exhibit is exceptional.”
Art is Ageless, open exclusively to people age 65 and older, is a copyrighted program of Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America. For the competition, works must have been completed in the past five years. Artists not interested in competition can choose to enter the Art is Ageless exhibit only.
Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America’s Art is Ageless program encourages Rolla Presbyterian Manor residents and other area seniors to express their creativity through its annual competition, as well as art classes, musical and dramatic events, educational opportunities and current events discussions throughout the year.
