  • A fire destroyed a mobile home Monday night on County Road 7130.
    According to Rolla Rural Fire Protection District Assistant Chief Jordan Light, the fire began just after 7 p.m.  
    "Eighty percent of the single-wide mobile home was destroyed by smoke and heat damage," said Light.
    The fire district was assisted by the Doolittle Fire Protection District and Phelps County Ambulance.
    The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. It is not being considered suspicious.
    The mobile  home was owned by Chantel Smith.
    American Red Cross Heart of Missouri Chapter volunteers are assisting the residents.
    Two Rolla volunteers were dispatched Monday evening to the scene and met with the family, a mother and three young children.
    The family is staying with relatives, according to the Red Cross.
