  • Two local men have been charged in connection with nearly 11,000 of fuel stolen from MFA.
    Accused of the criminal allegations are Daniel Schneider, 32, of St. James, for receiving stolen property, fraudulent use of a credit device, felony stealing, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon; and Eric Bruman, 37, of Rolla, for receiving stolen property and fraudulent use of a credit device.
    On July 22, officers from the St. James Police Department and the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department conducted a long-term investigation and determined that 10,984.03 gallons of fuel was fraudulently taken from MFA without the owner’s consent. The fuel stolen is valued at $39,447.83.
    The alleged perpetrators were arrested while pumping fuel with a stolen MFA fuel card.
    Through joint efforts, involving the Dent County Sheriff’s Department and Sullivan Police Department, Phelps County sheriff’s detectives were able to recover 3,548 gallons in fuel for a value of $12,830.34.
    Also on July 22, St. James police officers conducted a short-term narcotics investigation that resulted in two arrests.
    Robert A. Durrett was arrested after allegedly receiving stolen property and possessing of drug paraphernalia. Darrel L. Bailey also was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
