  • It has recently come to my attention that the wife of Kerry Messer, a colleague at the Capitol, is missing and has not been seen since July 7.
Lynn Messer’s absence was noted in the early hours of July 8, at the family farm in Ste. Genevieve County. Left behind were her phone, purse, and other personal items, including a walking boot she wore while recently nursing a broken toe.
When Kerry woke the morning of July 8, he discovered his wife was not in the home, he searched the family farm in areas she might typically be. The everyday routine of a family farm starts early, and he thought she may have been working somewhere on the 270-acre farm. When his search turned up empty, he then called the Ste. Genevieve County sheriff’s office for assistance. Within hours, volunteer teams, including local fire departments, the Eureka Search and Rescue and the St. Louis Regional Command Post were scouring the countryside in an effort to find Lynn.
Now, more than two weeks later, the search is still under way. Hundreds of friends and well-wishers have joined in the search. Kerry Messer has made a public outcry for help to find his missing wife, not only to the news media, but on the Facebook page “Find Lynn Messer,” enlisting the coverage of the massive social media network.
I encourage anyone with any information regarding 52-year-old Lynn Marie Messer to contact the Missouri State Highway Patrol or the Ste. Genevieve County sheriff’s office tip line at (573) 883-5820 ext. 27463.
I do hope and pray that this story will have a happy ending for Kerry, as well as his entire family and extensive network of friends and supporters.
Always feel free to contact me throughout the year with any comments, questions, or issues by calling my office at (573) 751-5713 or by visiting my website at www.senate.mo.gov/brown.
