  • Phelps County Bank’s 19th annual Take A Stand to prevent child abuse event held July 11-12 around the county raised a total of $23,813.06. The funds raised will help the Phelps County Child Advocacy Network (PCCAN) with child abuse and neglect prevention programs in the county. Several groups held lemonade and water booths last weekend to raise money. Since this project was started, over $350,000 has been raised by children, families, groups, businesses and individuals through sales of lemonade and water over a two-day period, according to Lisa Kean, with PCCAN. During last year’s Take A Stand event, over $28,000 was raised through donations.
