  • WAYNESVILLE — Phelps County Regional Medical Center (PCRMC) will host a Topping Out Ceremony early next week in celebration of a milestone at the PCRMC Waynesville Medical Clinic.
The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 21, at the clinic’s construction site located on GW Lane Drive in Waynesville, directly off of Interstate 44 and adjacent to the veterans clinic.
Light refreshments will be served during the event.
Guests will have the opportunity to sign their names on a steel beam that will then become part of the permanent structure.
Construction began last year on the medical clinic.
The Waynesville Medical Clinic will be a four-story building, totaling about 58,850 square feet.
The ground floor will include a sleep center, meeting spaces, business offices and support space for departments such as housekeeping as well as “empty shelf space” for future expansion, said PCRMC Chief Financial Officer Ed Clayton.
The next floor up will house an outpatient pharmacy, laboratories, a walk-in clinic as well as basic radiology and cardiology services.
The floor above that would have physician offices, primary care services, internal medicine and family practice care.
The top floor would house outpatient rehab services with about two-thirds of the remaining floor space empty for room to expand in the future.
The facility is expected to be completed in the spring of 2015.
The PCRMC Waynesville Medical Clinic will serve as a health care center for patients in Waynesville, St. Robert, Fort Leonard Wood and surrounding communities.
