Aaron Hadlow, Springfield, was named the new managing editor of the St. James Leader-Journal July 1. Hadlow will replace Jim Brock who received an internal promotion and will be the managing editor of three newspapers in southeastern Nebraska and western Iowa.
"At the heart of any thriving community is an active and engaging local newspaper. It is a bedrock institution," Hadlow said. "I hope to continue the long tradition of St. James focused coverage and uphold the high standard of journalism that the Leader-Journal has continually operated under since its establishment in 1896."
Joyce Miller, editorial director of Lake Media, said Hadlow was welcomed addition to the regional staff.
"We look forward to Aaron becoming a familiar face in St. James," Miller said. "He is enthusiastic and brings several years of community newspaper experience with him."
Hadlow comes to the Leader-Journal from a recent post as an education reporter for The Christian County Headliner News, where he covered seven school districts and one community college.
Hadlow said he enjoys fishing, hunting, reading and writing. He is currently working on a collaborative multi-media web-comic project.
"I look forward to spending many mornings catching my daily limit at Maramec Spring and other regional trout springs," Hadlow said.
He is a 2011 graduate of Missouri State University, where he received a bachelor of arts in philosophy. He is a life-long Missouri resident, and graduate from Smithton High School.
