ST. JAMES – Veterans at the Missouri Veterans Home-St. James will be “growing green” thanks to a generous donation of three tower gardens.
The tower gardens were purchased from funds raised by family and friends of Dan Haskell, who is one of our Veterans who lives here at the home.
The Missouri Veterans Home Assistance League and Phelps County Regional Medical Center also contributed to the effort.
The Juice Plus Tower Gardens are able to grow a lot of food in a little space and use aeroponic technology to grow everything from tomatoes to strawberries.
The Haskell family raised enough funds to purchase three of the tower gardens, which will be placed on all three of the cores at the Missouri Veterans Home.
Veterans will be able to participate in helping to grow the fresh produce as well as eating it.
