  • Jerry Rosa and the String Works Band will perform at the Lyric Live Theater in Newburg Saturday, June 28, at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
    Rosa will be joined by longtime banjo player Leon Prewitt, from Defiance, and fiddle player Patty Morrow Chandler, from Eolia.
    There is no set cost to attend, but donations will be accepted.
    Theater representatives said the show will be a family-friendly evening filled with original, traditional, contemporary, old time country and gospel Bluegrass music. The band will also take requests.
    Current members of the group are Renee Caudill on upright bass and vocals; Patty Chandler on fiddle and vocals; Gary Heavin on flat top guitar and vocals; Leon Prewitt on banjo and vocals; and Jerry Rosa on mandolin and vocals.
    The Rosa String Works Band has been performing since the summer of 1991. The band name is derived from an instrument building and repair business owned by band founder Jerry Rosa.
    Lyric Live Theater is located at 117 First St. in Newburg  and its website is www.lyriclivetheater.com.
