  • Authorities have announced the identity of the man found dead in the Waynesville Price Cutter parking lot on Friday.

  • Authorities have announced the identity of the man found dead in the Waynesville Price Cutter parking lot on Friday.
    Waynesville Police Chief Dan Cordova said the man was identified as 38-year-old Curtis Daniel Lane, formerly of Hollister. Cordova said that Lane had just moved to Waynesville within the past seven days.
    Lane's next of kin have been notified.
    On Friday, police responded to the grocery store parking lot located in the 300 block of Ichord Avenue at around 3 p.m. June 13 when someone reported an individual found unconscious in the back seat of a vehicle.
    In addition to the Waynesville Police Department, Waynesville Rural Fire Department, Pulaski County Ambulance District, Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) all responded to the scene.
    County Coroner Mike Harness pronounced the victim dead.
    According to the physician who assisted with the autopsy, the preliminary findings have ruled the death as unsuspicious.
    The toxicology lab results that has haven't been completed will determine the cause of death.
    The MSHP Division of Drug and Crime Control assisted in the investigation.
    This has been the third dead body to be found in Pulaski County in the last month. A couple was found dead in Buckhorn around Memorial Day weekend.
