On Wednesday, June 18, GRACE will hold an open house at its new location at 601 N. Elm St. in Rolla from 1-5p.m. At 2 p.m., there will be a ribbon cutting.
In September 2013, the Greater Rolla Area Charitable Enterprise (GRACE) moved their offices from North Bishop Avenue to a space more than triple in size. On Wednesday, June 18, GRACE will hold an open house at its new location at 601 N. Elm St. in Rolla from 1-5p.m. At 2 p.m., there will be a ribbon cutting.
"This place has been great," said GRACE Executive Director Tina Davis. "We've been able to hold our GRACE for Christmas event here and our GRACE for kids program. In the past, we would have to box all of our stuff up and take it to a local church and hold the event.”
According to Davis, this non-profit serves around 3,000 clients a year. Those services include financial assistance and food assistance among other things.
Related to the open house, GRACE has kicked off a capital campaign to pay off the mortgage on its new building.
"We hope to raise around $200,000," said Davis.
Davis added that another need is to expand GRACE’s pantry to include a refrigeration system.
"We currently serve our clients just with non-perishable items," she said. "With a refrigeration system, we would be able to pick up items that are about to expire that are thrown out by the area grocery stores." For more information on the open house or to give a donation call 573-368-5577.
