  • Secretary of State Jason Kander Tuesday announced that the Rolla Public Library received a grant for community engagement and learning in the amount of $7,316.
The funds will be used to strengthen young adult engagement with the library.
“This grant will allow Rolla Public Library to provide Missourians with additional resources and opportunities in their library as well as the community,” Kander said. “Our libraries’ focus on creative approaches to learning is yet another example of why Missouri libraries are among the best in the nation.”
The secretary of state’s grants for community engagement and learning are funded by the Library Services and Technology Act through the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services.
In the 2014 fiscal year, the Missouri State Library, a division of Kander’s office, has approved a total of 129 grant applications, distributing $1.4 million in federal awards to libraries throughout Missouri.
