A St. Robert woman has recently been accused of sexually molesting a child in her  family, according to court documents.
Jessica Elizabeth Perkins, 27, has been charged with statutory sodomy in the first degree, endangering the welfare of a child and incest for incidents that allegedly took place between Jan. 1, 2012, and Oct. 1, 2013, according to court records.
The Pulaski County Sheriff's Department began investigating the incident in April when it was determined the crime was committed in St. Robert, which is in the sheriff's department's jurisdiction.
Authorities would not specify Perkins’s relationship to the child.
Kids Harbor Too, a child advocacy center, interviewed the child, who is younger than 7 years old, about her family member who molested her. The child told investigators that Perkins would molest her “everyday until she was in foster care,” according to court documents.
The probable cause statement said the child also told investigators that when she would refuse Perkins, “she (the child) would be slapped in the face.” The child also said Perkins would tell her to be quiet while the incidents were occurring or Perkins would hit her.
Perkins was arrested on April 24 by the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department. According to online court documents, she entered a plea of not guilty on April 25.
Perkins is currently in the Pulaski County Jail with a $300,000 cash-only bail. If convicted of statutory sodomy, she could face life in prison.
Perkins is set to appear in court June 30.
