Bulldog boys' tennis season comes to an end.
The Rolla High School boys’ tennis team ended its season when its doubles team of seniors Nathan Graham-Aidan Gelles was eliminated during the Missouri Class 2 Individual Sectionals, held Tuesday at the Waynesville High School courts.
Graham-Gelles was beaten by the Columbia Rock Bridge doubles team Rohit Rao-James Majors 6-2, 6-0.
Others to advance from the Waynesville sectionals to the Class 2 State Tournament were Micah Klousia of Springfield Glendale and David Clausen of Jefferson City in singles play and the other Rock Bridge doubles team of Brian Baker-Harry Bozoian.
“You always want your season to end at the latest possible date, but I felt like we played well,” RHS coach Cody Kennedy said of his doubles team. “The score doesn’t always reflect the play and we had numerous break chances we just didn’t convert.
“I was real proud of Nathan and Aidan. I was also very proud of this team this year. They did a great job all year long.”
Here are Tuesday’s Waynesville Class 2 Sectional results:
Micah Klousia, Glendale, beat Junyi Wu, Columbia Hickman, 6-3, 6-2.
David Clausen, Jefferson City, beat Dalis Feemster, Springfield Hillcrest, 6-2, 6-2.
Rohit Rao-James Majors, Rock Bridge, beat Nathan Graham-Aidan Gelles, Rolla, 6-2, 6-0. Brian Baker-Harry Bozoian, Rock Bridge, beat Hayden Fulk-Spencer Weller, Glendale, 6-2, 6-4.
